4 weeks today!

Well, here we are! In just 4 weeks time it’ll be day 1 of the trek, (apologies, that should say ‘walk’)

So where am I up to? Well I have received confirmation from Tanzania Immigration that my visa has been approved and they will be letting me in the country, woop woop! No excuses now!

Today I spent time filtering through the kit list, ticking off what I have, what I still need, and what little extras would be useful. It’s a long list and I need to put my head into both trek packing mode and also holiday mode, as there’ll be a few days of relaxation at the end of this journey.

It’s been glorious weather in the UK over the last couple of weeks, and while people have been posting pictures of sunbathing and flip flops, I’ve been tramping around in my hiking boots making sure they’re as comfy as they possibly can be – I have been wearing shorts though at least! I also discovered some amazing socks which are padded and are super kind to my Achilles. After having physio and acupuncture for the past 12 months for Achilles tendinitis I wasn’t sure I’d be able to go on the trip, but the physio has worked wonders, so I’m good to go!

So, I’ll be updating this blog much more in the countdown days ahead, so please keep an eye on any updates, and if you can spare a few pennies, then a donation would be fabulous! Thank you for your support!
